The two-storey masonry building, which commands a prominent position in the Market Yard, was originally used as a fire station before undergoing a refurbishment circa 1980. Now upgraded as The AIM Centre, the modernised building provides office space with a research and innovation hub to develop the region's manufacturing industry to meet challenges of rapid technological advances including Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Data Science. Retaining the original features coupled with modern enhancements in the new glazed facade redefines this landmark for its new era in the Market Yard. Internally, spaces are designed with flexibility to expand and contract to provide collaborative works spaces.
