A project of national significance involving the delivery of a new four-storey laboratory building and the internal refurbishment and upgrade of the existing adjacent labs, commissioned to develop an optimised pathology department and National Centre of Excellence for Screening Services.

The linear rectangular building is positioned adjacent to the existing pathology labs at the rear of the hospital, the narrow building plan width facilitating the creation of double aspect, bright working spaces.

A glazed link acts as the connection between the new and pre-existing labs, within which a welcoming double height foyer space serves as both a reception area and as an arrival space.
