ST. JOSEPH’S SECONDARY SCHOOL, DROGHEDA

St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Drogheda was one of four schools developed and managed by Rhatigan Architects in Partnership with JJ Rhatigan for the NDFA. Consisting of a number of extensions to an existing single storey brick school, this project required careful detailing to achieve the slenderness portrayed in the Design Intent. The developed design placed an emphasis on the spatial quality and variety of each component part, creating spaces to raise the spirits of school users and using a scale and proportion that were appropriate to the pupils/students.
