PRIVAT DWELLING, DONEGAL
This family residence in a sensitive rural location utilises natural light and frames views of the surrounding landscape. The house design borrows from 2 story one room deep farmhouses that characterise south Donegal, and is orientated due south allowing all the living and bedrooms to benefit from southern light.
Environmentally the house uses the passive house philosophy, large southern openings, small framed northern apertures, high levels of insulation and airtight construction with a heat recovery system. Externally the house is finished with white plaster and reclaimed blue Bangor slates.
