DONEGAL GARDA STATION

Donegal Garda Station was a double award winner at the 2021 RIAI Awards, picking up top honours in the Cultural/Public Buildings Category and the Sustainability Category. The project is also nominated for Building refurbishment of the year in the 2022 Building and Architect of the Year Awards.

Donegal Garda Station stands out for its iconic civic presence and its architecture embracing the function of the building. The reconditioned original building has been opened up to the public on the pavement facing the street and quay, whilst a lightly framed but protected southwest-facing working wing wraps around.
