This 90 bed HIQA compliant Community Nursing Unit in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim comprises a combination of Long Stay, Short Stay and Dementia Wards with a designated Rehabilitation Facility.

A split two storey solution is proposed for the building, with the massing proposal involving two intersecting courtyard buildings, each two storeys in height, that step up the sloping site. The roof is pitched and dynamic. Areas of cut stone are introduced into the facades to break down the apparent scale of the building, with vertical timber fins used to identify the double height entrance foyer space.
